Dongle studing, where to start for a specific target?

Post by schledde »

Hello everyone,

im interested in starting to learn about donglestuff as im a legal owner of a USB dongle protection system and would like to try to make a backup of all the legal licenses stored on it.
I own three hardware dongles but stored all lics on one of them and would like to make a backup of the full licensed one to one of the unlicensed dongles. <--- i hope this is not too confusing :D

Its a specific protection from what i can say.
Im not sure about where to start reading/learning. API guides, example codes, SDK's are not really available (well, at least not for me...).

So a kickoffpoint where i could start would be fine.

Thanks a lot

First off, you need to determine the type of dongle. HASP, Sentinel, Hardlock, Ect. Dongles can be destroyed by dumping them if the wrong settings are applied to your dumper ie Brute furce on an Ultrapro dongle or a newer superpro.
