    beginner here, wanting to learn a little in order to crack a program...

    i have a little program called <name removed> which i think is great, but unfortunately, i cant find a patch for it. i opened up the exe in winhex, thinking if i dallied around enough in there, maybe i could figure out how to switch it to activated-no dice where do i get started? its probably time i learned a little about this stuff anyway.... thanks in advance

    If you are still reading this thread, sometime back when I was planning on participating in a "absolutely newbie" forum I ran across this pretty fair description of the basic process, perhaps it can give you some clues.
