How do i create long flexlm license keys (with 20 chars) ?

    hey ,

first of all i use the flexlm 6.1 sdk. i generated a license file with genlic32 but as you see in the topic i only get 12 chars keys...

i read some sites and mostly i found answers like that :
"try building lmcrypt, then use lmcrypt -verfmt 5 -longkey license.dat and see what happens."

but my problem is that i dont know how to build lmcrypt (if i take a look in i86_w3\build.bat
i see some lines like Microsoft C/C++ is required and sadly i have no C++ on my pc)

if i try to use i86_n3\lmcrypt ,i get no result with the command line above...the key is stil
12 chars long ... so i need your assistance .

I don't think that genlic generates long
keys - I suppose you could patch it easily
enough to do that if you were so inclined,
but the right answer is to build lmcrypt.

I suppose I should have mentioned that lmcrypt will
only modify features for the daemon that it's built for, so
it won't do anything if the vendor names don't match.

I build lmcrypt and the custom keygens using
    Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0.

Would you kindly send me a copy of flexlm sdk 6.1

    Hi,
Would you kindly send me a copy of "tool name deleted". I need it very much.

I'm a COMPLETE IDIOT and didn't bother to read the FAQ or the Title of the Tools of the Trade Forum, or I would have known I AM NOT SUPPOSTED TO ASK FOR THE TOOLS OF THE TRADE IN THESE FORUMS!!!

And because I am A COMPLETE IDIOT, and only want what I WANT, I thought it would be OK to reopen this 7 year old Thread. Boy was I WRONG!!!!!

    Thank you very much

lmcrypt -longkey -verfmt 5.1 -i infilename -o outfilename

    ------------------------------------
usage: lmcrypt [-i infile] [-o outfile] [iofiles] [-r] [-verfmt ver] [-decimal]
    [-maxlen n]
    -r Print copyright notice.
If no input file, or if specified as - or stdin, stdin is used.
If no output file, or if specified as - or stdout, stdout is used.
Iofiles are read and written back in place.
If no arguments, reads stdin and writes stdout.
If no arguments, reads stdin and writes stdout.
-verfmt prints in old format and prints errors when
    -featset prints FEATURESET lines
-maxlen limits line length for continuation, -1 for unlimited
is new than specified. Version formats are 2-5, 5.1 and 6
