XP problem???

I'm an absolute newbie, so maybe i've missed something real obvious, but i get the impression that when you run an app in ollydbg, the app should actually run, as in pop up windows and such.

the only thing that happens for me is that the CPU window changes. Is it a WinXp issue or have i missed something?

Did you press F9 or hit the 'run' button? Where there any excpetions listed at the bottom?

Simply put, Yes, Yes and no. I've been trying this with different tutorials with the same results or actually, lack of results.

Well, have you followed a tutorial for this program? I know that there a re a few good ones out there for Crackme's. I'm not sure if that is why you are using Ollydbg, but it will give you the experience getting around the program. http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=ollydbg+tutoria l
