Need help with Hex Workshop plz

Hello,
I was reading a tut on how to crack hex workshop. I have hex workshop 3.11 (from their website) and thought that it wouldnt be too difficult to follow the tut using a different version.
I tried to register, put in some phony reg number, and wrote down the message that hexworkshop gave me: Please check your key and try again. If this problem persists, please contact service@bpsoft.com.

I opened the program in wdasm and searched it for that text. However, to my surprise, I cant find it anywhere.

Please help me. I know Im probably doing something stupid but I am new at this and would appreciate any help you can give me.

Some or more of the protection is done in the "BPSREGWD.DLL".. If you're going to patch the program/dll, there is a checksome someware..
