Need some help with DeDe plz

Hey guys,

Im working on this Delphi app (PE Explorer 1.93) and decided to try DeDe (first time).

I've never used DeDe and I seem to be doing something wrong.

I load the target and process it. However, when I click on the "Forms" button nothing is there. I found a tut that works on an earlier version of the program and in that tut all of the forms are displayed, the "Forms" section is full.

Can anyone tell me why my "Forms" section is empty (along with my "Procedures" section)? What am I missing?

The target isnt packed or anything. Is there some anti-dede stuff I should be looking for?

If I wasnt clear please let me know.

I have not tried any other rsrc viewer yet.

I wanted to use DeDe so that I can follow the tutorial somewhat (even though it talks about an older version).

Anyway, if DeDe wont work, can you suggest some other good rsrc viewers?

Hi

Sort of sounds like the trick of removing the "TPF0" identifier at the start of every Rcdata resource. TPF0.TForm1.Form can be replaced with i.e. 1234.TForm1.Form and this gets DeDe's shorts twisted in a knot. There is a second reference that gives the address to the form that can also be changed, so the app works fine but the Forms and Procedures sections in DeDe are blank as I remember.

See if you can find standard TPF0 identifiers with a hex editor, if not this may be deliberate anti-DeDe, maybe picked up from an Asp trick originally discussed here...
