tut search engines?

is there a "working" tutorial search engine , im particularly interested in techno ejay (PXD software), i got a time limited version and now the times run out, the program starts in a small 6kb 16bit program that loads a 32bit windows program, ive tried filemon/regmon to see whats going on but theres so many dll's, it writes a temp file to c:\windows\temp, a different file every time. Does anything sound "familiar" here, can someone give us a tip please, just some guidance for a newbie...thxz
