Zipped up Site

Any chance of putting a zipped up copy of the whole site as is onto the front page.

I would like to download all the essays and search through them myself.

You could then do an update every quarter or what ever.

Haven't you followed our bandwidth battle in the last weeks?

If we ZIP it and make it available for download, the speed of the board would decrease very much.

And who should ZIP it? tsehp sitting 24 hours a day in front of his computer and updating it? Or a CGI script which takes so much CPU time that the board is kicked again in two days?

I think people who are able to download the whole site (perhaps 10 MB, I don't know ) can afford reading and replying online.

Umm

I didn't mean the Forum Board I meant the Essays etc which is a separate part.

Secondly the update would only be a complete zip evey six months and could be storage on those free sites thus elimating any load on bandwidth, CPU time and any other excuse.

It would allow the site to be backed up in a zipped format elsewhere.
