Flexlm error

Hi,

When I run makekey.exe I get the following
message :
"lc_init failed. FLEXLM key data has expired
flexlm error: -50,51"

What's wrong ?

Well, my guess would be that the FLEXLM key
data has expired.

The FLEXlm vendor keys contain an expiry date,
and if you're keys are too old (like some of the
demo keys that Globetrotter provides) FLEXlm won't
work after that date. Use lmkg or lmrecode to generate
non expiring keys, and all will be well.

I have created the updated keys with
lmkg6.exe (btw, thanks for such nice proggy)
Where do I put the seeds/keys and features
in Flexlm 6.1 ? Sorry for a "newbie"
question.

RTFM is a great idea, but I don't have the manual, only 2 dirs :machind and
i86_n3. Where can I get any documentation on Flexlm ?

The PDF files which are the FLEXlm documentation
set are in machind. Read them, for Globetrotter has
done a good job of documenting their program.
Although, of course, reading documetation would help,
here's a brief summary of what you need to do.

If you're using makekey (which is in many ways a very
limited program) you will have to put the keys in
the file lm_code.h. If you wish to use hte full program
keygen, lmcrypt, you will have to recompile the program with
the Microsoft Visual C++ compiler. I use version 6.

Edit lm_code.h in machind, and edit makefile
in i86_n3.
Use build.bat to build your executables (or nmake) and
you should be well on your way.

Hi Nolan,

I just installed full Flelxm 6.1 SDK.
Everything is working fine now.
Before this I didn't even have the manuals
in "machind" dir, because it was a RIP.
