Adobe calling home on port 1935.

Yes?

Don Wooma

Nice little curve ball there Eval.

It has to do with the song "happy birthday to you".
Is was copyrighted in 1935 and is still copyrighted to this day.
Actually until 2030.

It has to do with what I was saying earlier in this thread.

http://www.snopes.com/music/songs/birthday.asp

The paragraph about mid way down describes the legal part
about using someones work.

Thanks Eval.

I came up with Happy Birthday as well, but I had no idea what the connection might be

My bad.......

It was in response to this thread:

http://www.woodmann.com/forum/showthread.php?13834-sort-of-legal-question...

After reading my first post in this thread I am left to wonder,
What the hell am I talking about?

That post is completely disjointed and non linear.

I am truly getting old

Well.........

According to the very bottom of every page,
this was started on May 10 1999.

I will go look at the wayback machine.

Woodmann

My best guess was the messageboard was started around
September 2000. Looking at the wayback machine clearly
shows that I didnt have +F's site in May of 1999.

So, why does it say May 10 1999? Who came up with that date?

Take a look at my attachment uploaded above link ,the reversing board was started in May 10 1999

update:
found this site SVD's old site archives ,gosh its still alive :P http://membres.multimania.fr/ephemeric/

MBFR* -- Fravia's 'General' MSGB_155985; 25Nov98 -- (splitted into several)
MBOLD.* -- Fravia's 'General' MSGB_155985; start -- 06Nov98 (not all) ("ephemery"
MBTOT.* -- Fravia's 'Tools-of-our-Trade' MSGB_186724; 13Nov98 --

Well as we all see its around that period...

Errrrrrr........

I thought we were talking about when I got +F's site.

I have no idea when the ORIGINAL forum was started, it was before I bought the woodmann domain name. I do know I didnt get +F's stuff until sometime in 2000.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that. Thanks for the reminder/link esther, I'm gonna browse through childhood again

Lol, some things never change. I extracted the first Sandman archive. Here's the very first post (which also gives a clue to the start date of May/99 - that was maybe the start up of the +S forum on disc.server.com):

The last forum was unexpectedly closed down due to it's -infringement- of the terms & conditions as set by disc.server.com. No matter, when one door closes, another one opens..

Lets Rock!

and here's the very first post after the +S opener. I mean, really!

May? September? Always better to celebrate twice than once, no matter what.

Don, are you gonna throw a party? Let me grab a beer.

I suppose it doesnt really matter.
We been here a long time and it makes me happy
